Former MYM Removed From EM
The first two play days out of five have been completed. The new year has started and Extreme Masters can continue their secondseason, though one team less.
Just before the New Year, Danish based MYM changed their Counter-Strike squad. Out wentthe less victorious Norwegian team and in came the WCG 2006 and ESWC 2007 championsfrom PGSPokerStrategy to represent the Norwegian organisation.
The former team however were allowed to stay in Extreme Masters and could play their remainingmatches as a mix team. Things changed, as today the team were removedfrom the tournament, based on breaking the allowed penalties allowed. The teamwill be removed and all previous matches will be deleted. However, they onlyplayed one match in the group stage, versus mousesports losing 2-0.
ESL states:
Sadly, we have to announce today that the team formerly known as MeetYourMakers will no longer be able to participate in the Intel® Extreme Masters. Due to penalties incurred for not showing up for their match versus mTw.dk, the team has broken the limit of 10 minor penalties and has to leave the tournament.
After several minor penalties for missing premium accounts and using a wildcard to late, the former team of Meet Your Makers didn't show any interest in finding a new date for the match. In addition to their 8 minor penalties they receive 1 minor penalty and 1 major penalty for not showing up for the match versus mTw and another 2 minor penalties for missing premium. Thus, all their main round matches will be deleted as well as the penalties given to their opponents in these matches.
